About
Gruppetto Tours
Gruppetto Tours, formerly Yellow Jersey Tours, is a cycling tour company run by current and former professional cyclists whose prime objectives are to assure that you can fulfill your personal riding goal, as well as your cycling dreams.
¨As a professional cyclist I have come to appreciate all the extra amenities teams provide that make a day on the bike much easier. My goal with Gruppetto Tours is to replicate this same level of service for a select `team´ of cyclists. I want to give people the chance to experience, as closely as possible, the day to day life of a pro-cyclist on the road.¨

Goal: “That is tough. Now I have a complete set of cycling licenses, having raced all the big races multiple times. I guess one day I would love to race L’Eroica. If you haven’t heard about this Italian race then start googling¨
“Everyone has a favorite race, or stage. For me, the Vuelta al Pais Vasco tops the list; there is nothing better than racing in your own backyard. There are also the big races like the Tour, Vuelta de España and the Giro de Italia which are momentous to ride in, as well as watch. The professional cyclists’ experience of these races has lead to what we refer to as licenses. When you complete one of these races you earn a different symbolic license. There is the Trailer License, the Ambulance License and the Bus License.
The Giro de Italia awards the Bus License. Commonly the peloton stays together up until the last few kilometers of the stage—much like being on a bus.
When we complete the Tour we earn our Trailer License. This race always lives up to its reputation of being the most gruelling, and like a trailer you are always chasing, always being pulled forward, struggling to stay behind the lead.
The Vuelta de España is the Ambulance License. As expected, when September rolls around many riders are physically exhausted from the season; for many the Vuelta de España is the last race of the season. At the end of each stage, it is typical to have a group of riders finish behind the main pack, with the ambulance bringing up the rear.”
